TT 2022: Founds/Walmsley Lead Frustrating Friday Sidecar Practice

Sidecar drivers/passengers have endured more than touch of bad luck, during TT 2022 practice week.

The lack of track time continued for the three wheeling fraternity tonight, due to various factors.

Originally set to get underway at 8:05 PM, the session was delayed for a moderate length of time due to an incident at Joey’s involving Michael Booth during the prior solo session.

It was then announced that there was a non-racing medical emergency around the Mountain Course.

Then Next, we heard over the tannoy, burst water main at Cronk Ny Mona!

Once competitive proceedings finally opened, the Birchall’s Ben & Tom, Tim Reeves/Kevin Rousseau were high profile crews to encounter problems whilst a mix of next generation, established TT favourites showed a swift turn of speed.

Fastest over the one-lap practice was FHO Racing’s Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley (115.44).

12 seconds down on Founds/Walmsley best time were the Crowe’s Ryan & Callum (114.276).

Third fastest Lewis Blackstock/Patrick Rosney (111.008) dipped over the 111-mph lap-mark.

Dave Molyneux/Daryl Gibson (109.312), Paul Leglise/Melanie Farnier (108.634), Conrad Harrison/Andy Winkle (107.761) finalised tonight’s Sidecar top six.

Remaining teams to complete laps before the water main issue at Cronk Ny-Mona curtailed proceedings were the following:

Estelle Leblond/Clement Carre (107.537), Cesar Chanal/Olivier Lavorel (107.408), Steve Ramsden/Matty Ramsden (105.919), John Saunders/James Saunders (105.346).

Gary Bryan/Phil Hyde (105.318), Harry Payne/Mark Wilkes (104.927), Gary Gibson/Tom Christie (104.022) and Team A.R.C’s Lee Crawford/Scott Hardie (100.142).
